Quite a trip to Moapa Valley. In the first half I thought we had a blow out in the making. The guys played the best defense so far. They were talking and making switches and being rewarded with break away's. The 3rd quarter was strange to say the least. We let the Pirates go on a run and allowed a 20 point swing. The guys battled and rallied everyone of them from the sidelines to whomever was in the game. They showed mental toughness and just took the game! My kings of heart and hustle are back! I think this game was really pivotal and I am so proud of the team. Some highlights were Taylor "Trey Tay" Whitman going 4 for 5 from the 3pt line. Justin, Logan, and Dayce together were %90 from the free throw line and shined under pressure in the 4th. Just was 9/10, Logan was 4/4 and I think so was Dayce. I loved Koden's little fake on the breakaway and I have pics down below. I like how we saw the floor.
Also Kudo's to the JV. They played a beautiful game of basketball.
Coach Larry Senior was inducted into the Pirate Hall of fame at Half time. This was really neat. He also returned their 'baton' to the daughter of his former track coach, Coach Dalley. It had been lost for 53 years. Larry sr. handed it to a gal to hold while he went and received the state track championship 5 decades ago and never saw it again. When his coached asked for it they couldn't find it. So last night it was returned.
