Pineview @ EHS First Home Game
We played Pineview for our first home game last night. Prior to the game there was an awesome tribute to 100 years of scouting. In the program nearly 270 men we listed as eagle scouts from the Enterprise valley. I think this is phenomenal. What an incredible legacy from this community.
Paula West sang the National Anthem as scouts walked on to the floor with a giant flag. She was spectacular! All of the Eagle Scouts present were asked to stand. It was a great way to begin the evening.
As far as the game, again, we had some very good moments. Our boys battled. Pine View is a good team. Coach Shurtliff told the guys they should tip their hats, learn what we need to learn and go forward. I was pleased with the attitude of our men after the game as the 'take aways' were discussed.
Can we gain confidence from these losses? A good question. I believe yes. Enterprise basketball is learning to work the best as a team. The more these guys come together as a team the better they will be. Coach Shurtliff often says 'Excuses never change performance.' There is no use in excuse mentality. The only answer is to identify what must be improved for better performance in the future. That requires individual adjustments as well as team adjustments. Mental strength and increased commitment.
I know this, I love my boys! They are the best. The experience they are gaining now will stead them well not only for this season and post season but many seasons of life. I am thankful for what they teach me and the class act they are.

ps I downloaded a little video of a portion of the National Anthem prior to the game. It looks like its at the end of this post. I hope it works!
Brett for the tip off!
Parkah Laub from the baseline.
OK. This was a highlight of the game so a devoted most of the blog pictures to this next series of Brett Schills steal and what happened. It was fun.
Number 12 comes in and whoa... jumps over the top of Brett.
Brett maintains control, gives the guy a piggy back ride for a second.
Gathers himself....
and goes up for two.
He gets fouled here. But if I remember correctly no call....
Way to go Brett! Loved it....
Jade a way cool hat.
