Back to Back Region Champs, Consolation Champs and Champs of Heart and Hustle!

Mr. Holmes presents these trophy's. 2010 State Consolation and 2010 Back to Back Region 13 champeens! We thank him for his support and making this a special night.

We had a great EHS Basketball banquet/family night. We ate burgers and hotdogs cooked by the coaches and had yummy salads and desserts brought by moms and families. Thanks to Paula West for making the assignments and for everyone adding food and good company.
Mr. Shalyn Nelson but together an awesome highlight video that we watched together. It was really great and we thank him for capturing memories that will last forever and sharing them with us tonight.
Our booster club President, LaDel Laub, announced the "Steve Steheli and Bart Hess Scholarships" The outgoing seniors can apply. We are so excited about this opportunity. We thank LaDel for his work on this and especially thank the Hess and Steheli families respectively, for making this so meaningful. It is a tremendous way to honor these great men and to give college scholarship opportunities to these great young men. A wonderful legacy has begun.

Coach Smith presented the 'Summer Book of Pain'. We encourage everyone to become a part of the 10,000 club! Coach Wallin has more copies in his room so go get one and let others know where they are. Coach Wallin also has registration forms for the Dixie Team Camp. We encourage everyone to register. Remember there are work scholarships available to pay for the camp. No excuses for not going! It is June 21st-25th. The fee is $280.00. That includes hotel, food and travel.
We are really exited for the summer. The off season work is what makes great seasons.

Post Season Play

We hope to see everyone at the Basketball/family home evening.
April 26th, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. in the EHS commons area. We will be showing the highlight video Mr. Nelson has put together and receiving our region trophy and our consolation trophy.

Summer schedule will be announced and our off season workouts defined. We are exited for a new year!

Absolutely Proud of My Boys! They are State Champs of Class, Heart and Hustle!

What a state tournament experience.
I've blogged quite a few pictures that cover our three games up in Richfield.
I few pictures down you'll see my son Jo B crying in is sweat shirt because we didn't beat South Summit and the dream of a State Championship this year was lost.
I've been reflecting on the weekend. I could not be more proud of our men. The greater journey of having to decide to pull themselves up after a loss like our first game and return to the court, beat Layton Christian and North Summit will be one I never forget. It got me to thinking about what I hope my son has learned as he has watched this team on and off the court.
I hope he has seen the hard work, no quit and commitment displayed each and everyday in practice and in every game. I hope he learned what it means to have heart and to face adversity in whatever form it comes.
From our seniors he has seen leadership and courage.
From Robert who was injured early but came to every practice. He stayed fit on the stationary bike and practiced his shooting to stay in tune. He was a huge asset weather in the game or not.
Shawn T taught persistence and perserverance. He doesn't give up when things weren't going his way. He has come through with so many big shots throughout the season.
Kevin taught the ability to lay it all out there. He shows absolute desire. He came from only having one arm to use his sophomore year to starting his Senior year.
Travis is a force to be reckoned and learned his part and has everyone's back. I will never forget his hop off the floor in the third quarter of the Layton Christian game. He taught everyone what class is.
Ryan Jones is tough yet compassionate. What a work horse. Every game before and during every break he would take the opportunity to slap every guys hand and encourage them. He instilled belief and confidence in his team mates.
Captains Lance and Kyle lead by example. Work horses both. They smile through pain and reminded everyone that if you miss the joy no matter what the circumstance you miss it all.
The rest of the guys on the team worked just as hard every day. Though they didn't see as much playing time their contributions were no less important. They put their whole hearts into this team and this experience. Weather in practice or on the bench during the game they made everyone better. I am exited that they are exited to work hard in this off season.
I thank this team and these tremedous young men for all you have taught me and the example you are to my son.
This team is truly successful. Wherever they go and whatever they choose to do in life they will make a huge difference. I am one proud and thankful 'Mama'!
These guys have a whole town who loves them. They have fans from all over!
Thanks for showing us what true success is and what it takes! It has been an absolute 'Joyride'!

I was over by their bench and they were exhausted and asking to come out. Then Kevin's last second shot confirmed my confidence. I had a big smile on my face.

Our guys showed the greatest class and cheered for our region rival Kanab in their semi-final game vs. Waterford. Coach Luce was really touched and thanked us for it.
