EHS Vs. Virgin Valley, End of pre-season play

I am so very proud of our guys! Our team moved the ball better than I have ever seen, they limited turnover's and we got the shot's we wanted. We needed a few more to fall and we needed to be better at the line. Except for that it would have been a much closer game. Defensively they were much better and more consistant. It was wonderfully obvious that these boys have worked hard and that they are getting better every time they play. We were out Parker Laub with a sprained ankle. Morgun and Logan took some hits on the floor.
I feel really good about how far we have come during this pre season and look forward to the beginning of our season this week. No 2A team has had a tougher schedule than these guys. I
am really proud of how mentally and emotionally tough they have been and are. They have taken from each game what they need to do to improve and they have gone to work. I told them after this game I wanted to kiss each and everyone of them on the forehead I am so proud of them. They have lost to some very good teams and it isn't easy to take the lumps. These men have stayed positive and true. They have hearts of gold and steel all at the same time. These guys have faced huge hurdles and have not allowed discouragement to dampen their resolve to keep persevering to be better, to pay the price to improve. It really is about the journey in anything in life. This team is the strongest we have had in so many ways. Here is to a great regular season! I love our team!

Brett Schill gets the jump.

Ryan West takes it to the hoop in style
I think that is Brett
Wesley Twitchell up for a bank in. Wesley was fantastic. He was strong defensively and offensively. I would love to see him take it strong to the hoop more often.

Morgun at the line. Morgun took care of the ball He was thrown to the floor hard tonight. I could hear his head hit the floor clear across the gym! He is tough.
Lacey Drake from the free throw line.
Lacey Drake drew out for our half-time Pizza Factory shoot out. 1dollar get you a chance to shoot for a 100 dollar gift certificate to Pizza Factory. All you have to do is make a lay up, a free throw and a 3 pt shot in 20 seconds or less. Come put in this Wednesday in our opener vs. the Beavah, Beavahs!
Brett for a jumper
Jason Farnsworth at the line. These younger varsity players are getting better and better.
Logan's Lump!

EHS Vs. Lincoln Co. Linx

Tonight as I am writing this my thoughts and prayers are with the Robert Holt family. My heart has been aching since I learned this morning of JoAnn's passing. How can you even describe a woman like her? The scripture's say by their fruit's ye shall know them. Everything thing around this woman speaks, no testifies, that she is and has produced the sweetest fruit. I wish I had known her better. I am grateful to know many of her children and grandchildren.
I know from personal experience that 'why' is not the question to ask. I know where she is. She is home... Everyone of us is on the journey home too. Jo Ann loved the journey. Everyone of us can know what JoAnn knew before she left us and what was certainly reaffirmed to her when she arrived there, that God lives! He loves each one of us. He knows what it feels like to hurt and miss those we love. He knows how to help us through for sure. I thank Him for that and I am grateful to have known of a woman such as Sister Jo Ann Holt.
Mama Stacie

I was able to get home to stay a couple of nights ago. The Lincoln Co. game was last Wednesday. Our boys maintained our game plan until a minute and half before half. Dantley walker hit a couple threes' and we went into the locker room down ten.
We weren't able to recover. I really feel we learned a bunch though.

We get our first win vs. Verrington Nevada!

Sorry I have been here and there and everywhere and I am just getting the post up! For this blog I am focusing on our first win! We played Verrington last Saturday night as a closer in a three game tournament in Mesquite. We had quite a few sick guys, but other guys stepped up and we played as a team. It was fun and felt really good. Wesley Twitchell shut down their offensive 'guy'and pulled down 11 rebounds. Dayce Truman scored 26 pt. thanks to some really nice away from the ball work by Parker, Morgun and Ryan. Brett pulled down 9 rebounds before he fouled out in the 3rd. He was a scoring threat as well. Josh is becoming a threat in the paint when he takes it to the hole. It was renewing to see the guys get results from their hard work. There is still much to do and work on. These guys will get er done!

Last night we had some break downs in Moapa. We broke their press 8 times right in a row and then couldn't finish with some scoring. We have got to reward ourselves for our hard work!
We will focus on the positive and get back to work!
We love our guys!

Had to jump the ball twice for which I was grateful because I wasn't quite ready for the first tip off!
Morgun for three. He iced the game with his free throws as well.

Parkah for two!
